The Journey Begins

The journey begins - The Monday Group

The Monday Group was recently established by Jonathan Lamm, an energetic and innovative talent acquisition specialist with over two decades of experience working in the hospitality and events sectors. Jonathan has been hooked on these sectors from a young age and prides himself on possessing an innate understanding of the people, businesses and commercial landscape found therein.

Focusing on supporting employers with developing their people and culture at every stage of the employment cycle, The Monday Group has been established on the premise of Monday being the first day of the working week and providing an opportunity for a fresh start with the achievement of personal and professional goals.

“People are seeking enjoyment from their careers more than ever before… it’s now about work-life integration, rather than work-life balance.”

Jonathan Lamm

With the proliferation of technology and social media platforms, work and life have become so much more integrated. Professional experience and activity are now interwoven with one’s overall life.  People are seeking enjoyment from their careers more than ever before, outside of standard business hours. It’s now about work-life integration, rather than work-life balance.

By creating The Monday Group, Jonathan has established a business and team dedicated to enabling professionals to look forward to Monday more often. The question remains as to how can The Monday Group help people look forward to the week ahead? It’s all about aligning their business with skills and individuals suited to various workplace cultures. Whilst technology has influenced how we do recruitment, it is still very much a people-centric business. Matching the right people with workplace cultures is vital. Assisting businesses with initiatives to engage and retain talent and evolve their own workplace culture is paramount.

People are eager to work for businesses which show an interest in the community.

Over the last few years there has been a major shift in how businesses are being run, particularly now we have a generation of younger people coming into the workforce who have a strong social conscience and want to be a part of organisations which contribute to their social environment and their environment more broadly. This group of people are eager to work for businesses which show an interest in the community, is involved in charities and is often considering practical ways to help the less fortunate. In other words, a social conscience.

Courageous organisations create a working environment which demonstrates a strong sense of purpose, that is, a deeper meaning than being simply a profit-making machine. Smart businesses show how they genuinely want to contribute to their broader environment, both its staff and its customers. They hire people who believe in what they want to achieve and are a right cultural fit for the company. It results in a company culture being developed which is great for the brand, attracts customers and puts it ahead of the pack for finding great talent. Aligning your strategy to your talent is a strong recipe for high performance, for all the right reasons.

Poor recruitment practices can have a detrimental impact on someone’s motivation and personal life experiences.

The Monday Group prides themselves on sticking to quality processes to ensure the best possible outcomes for clients and candidates. Working as a preferred agency to many clients in the sector ensures that clients get the best out of this relationship. There is no place for cutting corners in the recruitment process. Poor recruitment practices can have a detrimental impact on someone’s motivation and personal life experiences. It’s a big responsibility and privilege which The Monday Group don’t take lightly.

By focusing on the broader HR experience beyond recruitment, including workplace culture, engagement, motivation, performance and retention, Jonathan Lamm and The Monday Group ensure a strong ROI (return on investment) for their clients with multiple tangible flow-on business benefits from the experience of working together.
