Keeping a keen eye on the local restaurant, bar, dining and catering scenes across Australia and abroad, our team has intimate knowledge of the level of skill and professionalism required to operate at the top level in culinary roles. We primarily recruit highly-skilled, senior candidates in this area.

Culinary and Chef Outlook to 2026

In 2020, almost a third of all jobs for Accommodation and Food Services professionals had disappeared from Australia, dropping from 923,500 in January to 648,300 in May. Since then, employment has normalised to 948,000 (2023), representing full recovery from the COVID-19 pandemic¹.

Turning to the upcoming few years, the amount of employed Chefs are predicted to grow healthily. The National Skills Commission expect 11,200 more positions for Chefs, a 13.9% increase on the benchmark levels taken in 2021.²

Finally, Chefs and Cooks are both present on the 2022 Skills and Priorities list, which tallies the top 20 occupations in demand across Australia³. Needless to say, the outlook for Chefs over the upcoming years is extremely positive.
