On the hunt for a Head of Events, our client is looking for someone ready to elevate their career and lead their events team to success.
The role:
- Contribute and develop an ongoing sales strategy that nurtures existing clients and attracts new
- Lead, train and mentor an events team, each responsible for their own projects
- Manage the training and development of staff
- Manage and report on expenditure and budgets
- Establish new and manage existing supplier and partner relationships
- Use event management software to manage bookings
- Manage and review of venues risks and ensuring appropriate risk mitigation strategies are implemented
- Research new technology, implement efficient systems and process improvements
- Comply with WHS and actively participate in achieving a safe work culture.
Candidate profile:
- 5+ years’ experience in event management in a high-volume venue
- A sound understanding of all aspects of event operations (production, security, function management, crowd characteristics, budgeting and forecasting
- Ability to build relationships with clients, suppliers and regulatory bodies
- Demonstrated problem-solving skills and risk management skills using creative approaches to find innovative solutions
- Self-starter with the ability to influence others
- A comprehensive understanding of WHS around F&B with the ability to apply these principles to the workplace
- Collaborative team player who is solutions focussed
- High standards of personal presentation and strong interpersonal skills
- High degree of accuracy and attention to detail
- Financial acumen
